| i'll not be PLAYING again until some manner of a broadband internet connection is available at my home. disconnects & reboots caused by my modem & phone lines aren't going to give me headaches & stress anymore. the phone company is a government monopoly and they charge PER MINUTE rates for using DIALUP INTERNET which is the only available connection here presently. My monthly phone bills range between 300-400 USD per month because of this.
I will pop on if someone needs access to my alchemy box, or any item i might have banked, but won't be venturing outside of farstead keep, where i'm currently logged out.
I'll be checking this forum every day, and can be reached via email ] krylles [ at ] gmail [ dot ] com [

| Have you looked into a satellite internet provider?
I experienced much the same problems as you are describing until I went to satellite.
We live WAY out in the country, and dial-up was a complete pain.
I'm not sure where you are or what is available, but our install was +/-$500 and we now pay +/-$50 a month for the service.
Check it out if you can, might be worth your while.

| i actually have looked into it here. far too cost prohibitive and against the law here. $2500 to get the equipment and $250 monthly service. there are 2 companies here that sell the equipment, but the goverment prohibits their use outside of their ISPs.
i've been waiting nearly 4 years for any other type of access than dialup. just a few weeks or months to go before the cable goes digital.

| Wasn't aware of your whole situation, just throwing my 2 cents of experience in.
Here's hoping it comes sooner rather than later.
