cheers I have finally made it to 90 Foraging!

To that end, the Guild can now offer Sails and other Moonsilk Items.

The moonsilk garb is INT 80+ and Level 95+, and I will post their stats here shortly.

I am also offering SAILS to Guild members only, for free.

If you have requests for sails and other moonsilk items, please reply to this topic and I will endeavour to get them made up and out to you as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Greatfoot the Bear.

P.S. The slog to 90 Foraging was NOT fun.

PostSubject: An Update on the Luna Thing   SAILS and other Moonsilk Icon_minitimeSat Jan 03 2009, 09:18

There has been some misinformation floating around with regards to Luna Root.

Here's the skinny to the best of my knowledge:

Luna Root can be foraged from any NORMAL foraging plant, bush, shrub, etc, anytime, day or night.

It can be planted as low as 63, mebbe lower, but not as low as 50. I was successful at 63 and Braque was not at 50. Braque will continue to try as he raises his planting so that we can get a definitive answer as to when it can be planted.

With regards to foraging itself, if you desire to power through to 90, here's the way I did it:

Normal grunt work until 70, through the TM. I found the best return on foraged seeds were either malacinth or blood root.
Once at 70, play TM roulette for Mandrake Seed or Bitterwood Ash and make the run back and forth from LSP to Scorched Island until 90.
Thanks to Kara for the SI tips, it really helped.
Some sort of speed increase is definitely required, I did it with Fleets, if you've got Deers or Stags, even better.

With all that said, it is still a bit of a slog to 90.

Oh yes, and if you are buying, or have bought sails from outside the guild, there is more than one type, ranging from total crappy to totally awesome, the one you want is the Fine Moonsilk Sail. If you didn't get it, you got ripped off.

I am going to more looking into the sail thing, some types may not be useable by some craft, I don't know, it's just conjecture at this point. If you know for sure if what sails can be used with what boat, let us know!

Braque successfully planted it at 55.

Luna Root can be obtained from Dolas as well, but the rate of return is no greater.

That's all for now.
